Sister Sellers is here!

Dear Brother and Sister Sellers,

Attached are pictures for you. Your daughter has arrived here in Las Vegas safely. We are so glad to have her in our mission. This mission will be a blessing in her life and yours as she faithfully serves the Lord.

Thank you for sharing her with us.

Semana 6: AKA Christmas

Buenos días mi familia y amigos! Today is now p-day! A day early?! No way! My p-day out in Vegas is Tuesday so I am writing my last email of the MTC today! Crazy to think two months of my mission is already gone and over, and I'm still sitting in my bed at my house?! Weird. But, I am a pro packer because I fit everything I need in my suitcases and had a ton of room. So of course I tried to fill the space with more fun but totally unrelated goodies and random stuff. However, I still have room in my suitcases! So hopefully that is a good thing!

Christmas was about two days after my p-day so you will get lots of Christmas pictures today! We had a blast doing Christmas at home. We did all of our usual traditions and I got a lot of very practical suitcase worthy gifts. Megan got me a ring light for videos and we took a photo shoot with it today! We got lots of new games and spent the afternoon playing them all. I also got to watch the new Soul movie! Had to get one more in before I headed out!

The last day of MTC (or so we thought) was the 26th!!! We said our goodbyes, had an amazing testimony meeting and watched some very embarrassing videos full of our class time shenanigans. No one wanted to be the first to leave so we all sat on the call until someone took one for the team. We all texted our goodbyes in the group chat and thought that we were done.... until Monday morning when we got a message saying we had class!!! Ahhhhhh! All plans for the day went out the window and we had both our morning and night class on Monday too! Luckily I am not leaving until tomorrow so I didn't have to worry as much as some other people! It was fun to have one more class, even though it really messed up plans. Everyone told me to buckle up because this is how missions are, flying by the seat of your pants!!! Ahhhh!

Today is family day! I went and got my nails done with Megan, went out to my favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch with everyone, and later we have a pizza and movie night planned to get one more in before I hit the mission field. It feels like the days go by slow but the weeks go by so fast! I'm glad I get this extra day to say goodbye to my family and spend time with them before I officially head out.

Now I am sure everyone would love to hear some things about how missionary work is going. Annnndddd I wish I had some cool stories for you, but alas. Nothing special this week. There were so many holidays and goodbyes that we really spent most of our free time, packing, chatting with family and friends, and saying our final words before we all head out at some point this week! I will say it has been amazing to feel the spirit everyday and enjoy the that it brings to all the stress and chaos.

Enviando abrazos celestiales,

Hermana Sellers

#LightTheWorld

Although we were unable to meet together at the Mexico MTC (CCM) because of Covid-19, members of Distrito 10D and I were still able to #LightTheWorld from our homes all over the United States. We hope you enjoy. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! Watch this amazing video of simple ways you too can light the world! #lighttheworld #LuzDelMundo

Be Still My Soul ~ A tribute to Elder James Pope

On December 1st we received the sad news that our friend, Elder Pope, had passed away the night before. Everyone in the district was heartbroken upon hearing the news. None of us imagined that we would go through such a difficult test during the MTC. Over time our hearts have been healed by the wonderful gift of Christ's sacrifice and we have constantly prayed that his family will be as well. This video was made by the missionaries as a tribute to Elder Pope.

Semana 5: TristeRC's

Hola mi familia y amigos! It's that time of the week again! Writing this always feels like I should be talking in a game show announcer voice. Sooo just picture that from now on. I feel like I'm being interviewed for a game show about my life every week, but way less funny. So just really soak in this information, just in case there is a game involving prizes at the end.

It has been a crazy week, as per usual. Semana 5 y 6 means no English in class at all! We also had 3 TRC's and taught 3 lessons to our interested people "Daniel" y "Rodrigo" (also known as Hermano Santander in a baseball cap and Hermana Rodriguez's alter ego). For those who don't know what TRC's mean, it is basically practicing how to teach in Español with members.... That speak only Español.... So I nicknamed them to TristeRC's. Triste means sad in Español to symbolize our sadness when we realize it is week six and we still can't make a sentence. However, I left the RC alone because in all reality I am just being dramatic, they actually aren't that bad and seeing our progress is really cool. Plus the members in Mexico are always so encouraging and willing to help. Hermana Marsh and I made it a goal to only write our lesson plans in English and then rely on the Lord to help us with Español. Let me tell you guys, the gift of tongues is real. I understood words I didn't even know I knew and I was able to have natural conversation and the beginning of our lessons this week. Our lesson with Daniel was amazing and I can't wait to actually teach in the field.

Speaking of, I leave for Nevada in 7 days!!!!! Crazy right?! I am so nervous but also, so excited! I can't believe I have already been a missionary for six weeks! Also lucky me, I do not have to get Covid tested before I get on the plane! Which means I have avoided getting my brain tickled yet again! Hopefully I can keep up this not being exposed trend.

Ok so now for the updates on all the fun shenanigans we are up to in our very limited breaks! Also this week we had girls night for three nights in a row! On the last night we did facemasks that looked like reindeer. I would attach the photo but the other girls insisted I didn't. Soooo if you want it you'll have to ask me in a different message. I also still haven't gotten my package from Hermana Marsh, it's going on day 11. So everyone pray it gets here before I leave!! Ahhh! We also had a super fun Chickfila date, sponsored by our awesome moms who agreed to drive us to Chickfila and back just so we could do companion study while eating Chickfila. Also, I made a milagros wall, to help remind me of all the tiny milagros throughout my weeks in the CCM. It is close enough that when I don't want to get out of bed I can remember all the good things that have happened. Our Embark group also discovered the amazing resource that is Embark. I know sounds weird right? Turns out the app is for way, way, way more than just basic core and has all sorts of grammar practices and reviews. Those videos have been lifesavers this week.

Fun with the fam included a very busy Sunday. We recorded a high quality video of us doing the 12 days of Christmas. Made two more batches of Christmas treats, played games, opened our Christmas yums box, and made Chinese for lunch! I have played so many games with my family this week, and have found out I am actually awesome at Stone Age so, if anyone wants to challenge me, I'm always down. I'm gonna miss this crazy, loud, but 100% supportive bunch.

Class shenanigans include four major events. Uno, Elder Wall clearing his couch, and falling epicly trying to clear some stacked tables during our obstacle course exercise. Dos, Hermano Santender being Daniel with a fedora and middle part (pictures are required to go to my grave on that one). Tres, the hardest tongue twister ever with Hermana Rodriguez. Quatro, we found out how to make virtual backgrounds... that is all I need to say on that one. Pictures are included.

Elder Pope's video tribute and our #lighttheworld video should be posted on Facebook in the next two days. So, keep on the lookout, watch and share! Trying to get videos from everyone and editing is messing with a force of nature so that is why I keep saying the video will come, and then it doesn't come.... But, the Elders are on it and they will both be posted before Christmas day! I love the way the Lord is letting everyone use their talents in so many different ways.

I love you all and I hope you have an amazing Christmas! I'm praying for snow at least one time before I move to the desert. I love getting emails so don't be afraid to tell me how your week went too!

Hermana Sellers

Semana 4: I HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO COVID!

Hola mi amigos y mi familia! I have been exposed to Covid was used as click bait... ;) However in all honesty, my MTC teacher who lives in Mexico has the Rona. So technically, not exposed, but we have all been joking about it all week. I heard from a little bird that people actually like longer emails, so, here is a run down of my week everyone! This week feels like it flew by. There were so many things that happened. AND! I actually took a lot of pictures!

Thursday: I TAUGHT AN AMAZING LESSON IN ALL SPANISH! IT WAS A MIRACLE!! Then, Hermana Marsh and I surprised the Elders and showed up to Safety Zone movie night in our brand new matching Sombreros. It was so fun to just laugh and enjoy a boring assignment in a fun way.

Friday: A pretty normal day. What is a normal day you might ask? Get up, do our morning study, eat, get ready. Class from nine to noon, usually we do some sort of gospel study, and language study. Then we have a five hour "break" in which we have to eat both lunch and dinner, do companion study, workout, do two hours of language study, and also spend time with the family, pack, and do any assignments our teachers give us. So crazy, but normal. Much better than being bored I will say.

Saturday: Hermano Santander's birthday!! So naturally we threw him a mini party with a very bad version of Feliz Cumpleaños all decked out in our Spanish gear. Don't you fret pictures are included. Also on Saturday was our Stake Drive Thru Nativity. Megan played Mary in the Creche scene and I played hooky from class for 15-45 minutes so we could go drive through. My companion and I were waiting for everyone else to finish doing one on one teaching with our teacher. So, I connected my phone to zoom, and took her with me to see the Nativity. Guys. The line was so long!!!!! So many people from all over came to support and it was amazing. Such a fabulous missionary opportunity.

Sunday: Was a nice break. We made two more batches of the best Christmas cookies ever, and delivered them to a family in our ward. After we delivered the first plate we asked the Edwards who they would give a plate of cookies to if they had one. We then delivered a second plate to someone in the ward we hadn't even met yet. It really made me tear up, because not only did we bless one family with some cookies, we also got to help the Edwards bless another family. It was so fun and I highly recommend it. We also watched the Light The World devotional and it was amazing! They do one every day so if you want to know what I mean tune in tonight at 7pm MST.

Monday: A pretty usual day, but I did get a cute Christmas package from the other Hermana's in my district. I got the cutest grinch socks, some candy and a cute card they made together. Hermana Marsh and I made ornaments for everyone and that picture will be attached next week. I don't have a picture this week because when I say we made them together, I really mean we zoomed and I designed the Christmas card while she made the ornaments. So team effort, zoom style.

Yesterday our Elf, Candy Cane brought a claw machine with her. I may or may not have spent a very large chunk of my morning trying to get little candies out of it. We had sooo many classes so my time was mostly filled with class, spanish, devotional, repeat. We had a good day and even got to help a new MTC teacher learn the ropes.

Today I went to the dentist and got three fillings..... :( However, I am glad it was only three instead of the six they said I needed! Turns out I just have very groovy teeth. Mom and I went on our weekly P-day lunch date and actually remembered to take a picture this time!! I'm so grateful she drops everything to make my p-days (and everyday honestly) a good, fun, productive day.

This week has been so full I feel like I could talk for hours. But I feel like you guys got some good highlights! I have lots of pictures so I hope you enjoy them! Some are silly and some I previously mentioned!

CCM Week 3 ~ Bedroom Style

Hola amigos! It's that time of the week again. Time for Hermana Sellers top ten!! Woop woop!

10) I tried my Papa's marvelous creation of cantaloupe and vanilla ice cream, and I can never go back. Scoop out the seeds, fill with ice cream and enjoy. You're welcome I just changed your life.

9) Spirit moments, I have felt the spirit so many times it's crazy. I feel like I can feel when he is gone so much better now and it is weird but also amazing.

8) I TAUGHT A LESSON IN ALL SPANISH! Super exciting but this is number 8 because I did not say I taught an amazing lesson in Spanish. However, I successfully taught everything in Español so go me! (Well really go the spirit since none of that was actually me)

7) Elder Pope's funeral. Although this was not a happy top ten, it provided so much closure and peace to the situation. For those of you who don't know yet, an Elder in our district committed suicide last week. It has been one of the most emotionally challenging weeks of my life and I have truly learned the love God has for ALL of his children. I can't wait to see Elder Pope in heaven and see the work he is doing from the other side. His funeral also provided some spiritual promptings so stay tuned for a very special musical tribute sometime next week.

6) Christmas seasoning with the fam bam. We made Christmas cookies, put up the tree and watched the Christmas devotional. It was a good day and I was glad to finally spend some time out of my room!

5) Spanish progress. I feel like I can say so many things. Sister Marsh and I have continued making quizlets for everything and it is really helping us out! This week we are focusing on random conversation fillers, and connecting vocabulary, like because, again, over etc. Hopefully this will expand our ability to make our own sentences.

4) Embark study is usually the highlight of my day. I love learning and socializing with my group! It is smaller than our whole district and I can get to know people so much better when there aren't 12 people talking at once!

3) Art class...  well class and art.... well I don't know if I'd call it art. This week we made lots of drawings about the plan of Salvation, and the story of King Lamoni's father. Let's just say my district is talented everywhere but the zoom drawing department. I got some good laughs so of course the pictures are attached for your enjoyment.

2) Chats with my companion! I love Sister Marsh! I know that sounds so cliche, but I literally click so well with her! We have had similar trials and I admire her so much. Heavenly Father knew what he was doing when he put us together.

1) Tender Mercies. They are real. They are everywhere. The amount of little blessings that have happened during this very hard week are incredible. I have seen the Lord's hand in everything. I can not wait to teach the gospel and open people's eyes to the amazing blessings all around them.

That's all for now ladies and gents. Sorry there wasn't much Spanish! Don't you worry there will be more next week. Also, I really am doing much better dealing with the recent news. I shared this over a week after it happened so I had some time to heal. Enjoy the pictures. I am slowly learning how to document my life so the pictures will continue to get better and better.

CCM Week 2 ~ ft. My Bedroom

Hola mi amigos y mi famila! Emails from now on are gonna be a little different, in true Paige style. I don't like the basic emails, they are long and going through my journal remembering everything that happened is stressful. So! Drum roll please! Here are Hermana Sellers top ten events of the week! Starting with número 10 and ending on the perfect note número 1.

10) We had a very tender tragedy in our District this week, I won't go into details but all I will say is the Atonement is real. It is there to bring comfort and peace.

9) Workouts with Hermana Sellers every night between our zoom classes! I love, love, love teaching mini workout lessons to get people moving. Next week we are gonna start workout bingo! Thanks Sonia Callahan for the fab idea.

8) Companion study with Hermana Marsh. We are two peas in a pod which has never really happened to me before. I really feel like Heavenly Father knew we needed to be compañeras. We are the only ones in our district who managed to get DyC 4 memorized before our due date, because of our amazing and productive companionship studies :)

7) Scripture Study tools class with Hermana White, I learned so much about studying the Scriptures from this class. I learned how to use footnotes, and even how to go on a word hunt to find my perfect definition of a gospel word. That class has helped my testimony of the Scriptures grow so much already.

6) Thanksgiving was so fun! I enjoyed spending the holiday with my family, even though I am technically in the CCM. Mental break downs may have happened and hugs were needed because life is hard! But all in all, a fantastic day.

5) Makeup tips post Black Friday deals! Sonia wanted tips, which turned into a mass class involving all the niñas! See pics below from our fabulous photo shoot.

4) Zoom shenanigans for the win. Drinking water all at the same time, sneakily putting on sombreros and many more entertain us all during our long meetings. (I don't have pictures because I haven't figured out zoom, but that's my goal for this week)

3) MY AMAZING TEACHERS! They are literally the best. Hermano Santander is the most happy guy you will ever meet, and loves to joke around and eat tacos. Hermana Rodriguez is an actual gem, she speaks very broken English but you can tell she loves us and is the epitome of a good cheerleader.

2) GIRLS NIGHT! All the Hermanas had girls night on Saturday and it was such a blast. We got to know eachother and are planning a cookie party for next week. It was so nice to have some social interaction, and feel like compañeras.

1) ) Embark Study, aka language study with the bros. Six of the members of our district are in our group and we go over language for approximately 20 minutes and then chat for.... at least an hour. Burrito blankets and Sombreros are a must if you want to attend.

P.S CCM = MTC

La semana final La Sombra/Hillpointe: El fin de la misión....!

Hello everyone! This is the last weekly email from Sister Sellers, but be not afraid because there will be so many more and faster forms of ...
